I recommend this new book on American youth soccer. It is not a serious look at our soccer, but instead is a light-hearted look at the social side of youth soccer in America. I think sometimes, our coaches, clubs, high schools try too hard to exert excessive pressure and expectations on our kids, so much so that the kids do not enjoy the game as they should or could. The Euros, Mexicans, South American kids all enjoy the game much more than our American youth.
