That is the way you progress as teams and clubs - playing in challenging tournaments during the summer, before the season even begins.

And here is how SC can win a Regional and maybe more -
Merge Bridge FA, Lexington and CESA clubs (practice 2/wk. in your region, and practice 1 or 2/wk. as full teams at the many Lexington fields). Contest the SCYSA/NECSA/CUFC ruling in court and you have it. It is so simple.........

Speaking of SC clubs participating in tournaments; CUFC is pulling together as a club and has a tremendous number of teams participating in the Disney Showcase Qualifier. Here is the link to all teams participating; CUFC is the only South Carolina club involved and has the following teams participating:

  • U14B Elite
  • U15B Elite
  • U16B Elite
  • U17B Elite
  • U18B Elite
  • U14G Elite
  • U15G Elite
  • U16G Elite

  • U18G Elite

It is good to see that CUFC is sending a number of teams to Disney Qualifier. But the competition there is from 2nd tier teams. Score has the more competitive teams - http://www.gotsport.com/events/?eventid=635

2004striker: I understand, but if CUFC does well then they'll go to the Disney Showcase. They're a new club and have to start somewhere; I think it's really impressive that they're doing this.

I will concur with that, but there should be substantial club talent already in place for some of those teams to consistently enter higher level tournaments.

I just checked the website for US Club Soccer and was amazed that Bridge FA 89 are in the Super Group in nationals when they did not compete in US Club Soccer Region C regionals.... or any other regional for that matter... Bear please explain the process under which Bridge 89 was selected ...?

by the way I do not imply that they are not worthy, simply they did not play in regionals as a prerequisite

I don't know how they were ultimately selected, but a team dropped out for whatever reason.

However, Bridge FA has supported this particular event for 2 years now, and previously SSC had some US Club Soccer teams (common DOC), and Bridge FA first competed as US Club Soccer teams in the TFC Friendlies 2 years ago. US Club Soccer is headquartered in Myrtle Beach. Bridge FA 89 are the current SC State Champions. I'm assuming that many factors went into the decision, but these could probably be some of the considerations.
