From the US Club Soccer web page:

Also at 9:50am, two past National Cup champions squared off in U15 Super Group action in Bridge FA (2005 U14 Premier Champions) and PA Classics (2004 U13 Premier Champions). After a scoreless first half, Bridge FA (SC) tallied the opening goal of the match 10 minutes into the second half. Countering off a PA Classics corner kick, Bridge FA found #10 wide open on the right. He calmly deposited his shot inside the far post for the 1-0 lead. #23 added a goal later in the half to give Bridge a 2-0 victory.

The victory earns the 90 Gold a spot in the finals on Monday.

Also, with a win by the 93's they are assured a spot in the finals.

Hurst, Super Group is the higher of the brackets when there are two brackets. The Bridge 93's were in the top bracket, as there was only 1 bracket. There was 2 brackets in other age divisions.

Bridge FA returns with 1 Championship, 90 Gold. The 93's suffered a hard fought 2-1 loss, with one of their players gone to National Camp. Within the last minute of play, they had a shot go off the post which would have tied it up and sent it to overtime.

Here's the recap from the US Club Soccer e-mail blast.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (July 31, 2006) - US Club Soccer 2006 National Cup V championships were awarded in Boys Super Group U13- U17 and Premier U12-U17 age groups Monday, July 31 in Greensboro, N.C. at Beeson and Bryan Parks. (Results: U12-U14 & U15-U17; Champions & Finalists photos). Ironbound SC (NJ) claimed a pair of National Cup titles winning the U17 Super Group and U15 Premier competitions, while Bridge FA's (SC) Super Group U15s and CASL's (NC) Super Group U13s became the first boys' teams to repeat as National Cup Champions. The 2006 National Cup V Girls Champions were crowned in Greensboro, N.C. July 22-25.

Bridge FA's Super Group U15s and CASL Elite's Super Group U13s join Slammers FC's 2006 Girls Super Group U16s as the first teams to repeat as National Cup Champions. Successfully defending its 2005 National Cup IV title, Bridge FA defeated Sockers FC Magic (IL), 2-1, in the U15 Super Group Final. CASL Elite earned its second consecutive National Cup Championship with a 3-1 victory over NJSA04 Santos (NJ).

In Premier action, LA Rampage's (CA) 2-1 victory over Bridge FA (SC) in the U12 Final was not secure until the whistle as Bridge FA nailed a shot off the goalpost with 30 seconds remaining.

Good results for both teams. The 90 Gold complete their first year together with a record of 42-3-3, with their only age group loss being the overtime loss to CESA Premier in the state cup.
