CESA U-16's beat the region champs OCSA Ocean Crew 3-2 over the weekend.

Overall, I'd say a pretty good weekend for the SC girls' teams in R3PL. Some good wins, decent ties, and 2 of the only 3 losses were 1 goal losses.

Still not getting much respect in NC though...

As 1 whose son played at a big NC Club until this year, I can tell you that as a general rule the big time NC Clubs and coaches view SC with a fair bit of disdain. SC is seen as 1 step up from dad coaches.

The best way to handle that.......is to keep developing the CESA's and Bridge's. Whip 'em to shut 'em up. Tho the NC condesending perspective towards SC tends to exist outside of soccer as well.

We had scrimmages at Wenwood yesterday and there was a girls team from Winston Salem there playing. U15-16 looked like....was that a PL game or merely a scrimmage?

Keep developing the CESA's and Bridge's....or keep developing CESA & Bridge? How many "super clubs" can SC support in order to be competitve on the regional level before the talent starts to "water down"?

IMHO...at least several more if the clubs get serious about promoting and developing youth soccer and start reaching out to all those kids who've never heard of "offside" -- let alone the names of any clubs in South Carolina. And another thing...I think...(pause)

In three seasons, I watched the current U18G CESA team go from 3-0 loses (and the matches were more lopsided than the scores) v. CASL and G'boro to this most recent weekend—4-0 win over CASL (against whom this team is 2-0-1 over the last 3 meetings) and 1-1 tie with a #6 nationally ranked G'boro. SC soccer CAN improve regionally and in relatively short time. Congrats to this group and let's hope all SC teams can continue to build on our successes.
