The only change that were asked for, was the amount of money payed for field usage. This was based on having 2 new light fields and the cost for field maintenance that is required. The cost breakdown was sent to the Bridge and given to Clark. Yes it cost more money then the last 2 years.

The fields I am talking about are A & B the other 2 light light fields. That were tore up done last year. The Fields have been almost unplayable all year because of over use from last year and failed reseeding. Not ODP this last weekend. I am talking about about paint, bug killer, lawn service (grass cutting), power, water, nets. goal tie downs, ect. in the cost break down for per field usage and manintance.

That wasn't the only change that I heard of, although that was one of them.

The request for the increase in field usage fees demonstrates either a lack of understanding or disregard of how the field usage agreement was initially derived.

I think "small changes" is what doomed the Charlotte Soccer Club - Charlotte United merger.

The fields than being A and B and the two new lit fields being D and E were not prepared before lights where installed and this is the reason for the poor conditions that will continue until these fields are crowned and have proper drainage...Lights can be a great asset for a club but without care the fields will turn into mud holes.

Hurst-I tend to agree with you on that one. Reading the NC thread on that is eerily familiar to a couple of years ago.

CHT: There were several reasons to proceed with the lighting of A&B without the crowning and drainage. I tend to agree, better to have the fields prepared first, but, that wasn't possible at that time.

So I guess SSC did not learn from the first two fields???
Preparation could of been done after the lights were installed..
I do not know of any changes that SSC has asked for except to stay with kids U13 and up..which was part of the agreement..I have not followed this situation lately so I would just be assumming...Don't want to do that!!!
After the end of this Spring season it will have been two years since this alliance was formed and the question I have to ask is...Is James Island and Summerville going to be the only two members of this alliance?The start up of this venture saw the Bridge dig deep into the Summerville program or should I say members to get this thing off the ground..I have to believe that we all thought that more clubs would get involved and contribute more players and Summerville would see some of their membership return..This has not been the case...Might be one reason why SSC needs more in field usage.

Soccermom: Out of curiosity, what is the annual cost for maintaining one full-sized soccer field at whatever level of break out that's available?

CHT: The last I knew Bridge and SSC (classic) both experienced growth. Your last statement is what I described as not understanding the field usage agreement, which is probably shared by many.
