I wouldn't judge anyone's success or failure based on the pre-season. Look at the Colts this past year. They lost 3 of the 4 pre-season games and won the super bowl. Plus, some teams don't make final roster cuts till after the scrimmages are over. Coach lets people play to see what they are made of and how they can contribute. Scrimmages are just that...scrimmages. And unless one knows all factors that enter into a match, a sound judgement would be impossible to make.
