I have absolutely no fear or problem speculating and/or forecasting victory in State this early becasue I've studied both teams very carefully for more nearly a year.

My intent is to do just that. Get CESA '92 and CUFC Elite '92 motivated to be the very best they can be because success at the Premier level for most SC teams has rarely progressed beyond Region III east.

I want to see it go beyond that. If speculation can help fuel the fire then so be it. Let the chips fall where they may.

Big Daddy,

No worries here about motivating CESA Premier '92 with an early prediction of a State Championship by CUFC Elite '92, becasue we want to beat the very best inpreparation for Premier play.

Historically, SC teams have done poorly in Region III so in my view verbalizing higher expectations for players, coaches and the club early in the season will only produce a more competitive team. I hope both teams find it within themselves to play at a higher level by the time they meet in May. It'll make for a very competitive match.

As to your statement that replicating a 0-2 result from the Fall for a team that was still finding it's rhythm during the first match should be considered as "having done well", I'll have to respectfully suggest that you may be smoking the same crack you think I'm smoking if you believe they would settle for such a "absurd" goal.

CESA Premier is an excellent team we have a great deal of respect for as they are made up of players who have played together for a number of years. CUFC Elite '92 is also a team made up of players who have played together for a number of years, but on four seperate teams. . . two of which won State Championships within U13 Challenge league and U14 Classic league.

They may surprise me by not rising to the challenge, but from what I've seen of their ability to play Premier teams over the past six months during three tournaments (CASL, Disney Qualifier & Disney Showcase) I stand by my prediction. They are a very strong, fast team finding better rhythm with every game.

Go gettem in the Premier league! CUFC Elite '92 will be ready.

Manchester, I suppose we will get a better idea how good your prediction might be this coming weekend.

Keep in mind, the last person I recall making that same sort of prediction was Soccer for Fun, and he and his Daisy-Dukes haven't been seen around here in a while...

Oh yeah.....I forgot to mention that you may end up providing added motivation to a certain group of low country boys.

When do Bridge and CUFC Elite play? Is that Belligerent's reference to this weekend?

Added motivation is exactly what we want. We want the best soccer the teams can bring to the pitch. Bridge and CESA are the only two teams I see doing that in the league. The more motivated the players are the better the competition. Qualifiers for Region III Premier level play requires it.

Bring it on!

Manchester,

I wouldn't have expected myself to be saying this after the Fall season, but don't count Mt. Pleasant out of the cup equation quite yet.

They did pretty well against Tega Cay this past weekend and, apparently, have since added a very strong forward to their roster.

Just like the Bridge FA boys, this weekend will be a good indicator of the strength of the Mt. Pleasant team.

Belligerent,

That's great to hear. The '91 Mt. Pleasant team routinely gave our CSC Burn '91 team a great match from U11 to U14 as they were always well coached and had a never die attitude. In fact, they came back three separate times from a three goal differential. Looking forward to the match this weekend.

Belligerent,

MPSC played very well today. They were much more organized than they were when we played them last Fall. It seems they've inherited some of that "never die" attitude the 91's have. Looking forward to the rematch.

Games this weekend. Please head out to the soccer fields and support the kids. By creating the atmosphere we can he improve the quality of play. With all the talent on display these kids needs to be playing in front of larger crowds. As soccer lovers we cannot just post messages in support of the sport and not go watch other kids play.
