Any thoughts, predictions, argument, really bad unresearched theories?

I'd really like to see this match but I have tickets to an event in Columbia this evening. I'm rather surprised this game wasn't rescheduled so that the Dorman gals could go support their classmates.

Then again I have seen that well-oiled machine on the court earlier this year, they probably don't need any additional help (right deahler?).

LF thought Dorman would hold back and pray for the counter like Byrnes. I doubt that theory, especially after they already beat Lex at the end of last year. Shall we hear profanity and the no shaking of hands this match?

Regardless of classification, there are 10 or so girls teams that could beat anyone on a given night; thus, this match could go either way and not necessarily prove anything except who is better tonight. Refs, field conditions, injuries, and a 1000 other elements—so who knows? That's why we play the matches, right? Hope the match is safe and high quality for all the young ladies involved.

Hurst66,

As for the Dorman girls' basketball team, they don't need help for virtually all of the other teams in this state. However, tonight against Lower Richland they will need all of the help they can get. I also was surprised, not to mention disappointed, that this game wasn't rescheduled. Not to worry - I have folks at the Colonial Center keeping me up-to-date on the games.

If tonight's game between Lexington and Dorman is nearly the quality of soccer that I saw played either last year when Lexington played Fort Mill, or on Sunday when Lexington played Riverside, it will be fun to watch regardless of the outcome.

Whiskey & Easy,

One of the main reasons why I have always encouraged my daughter to play all of the sports she can play is the lessons learned outside of the athletic level attained. Did the Lexington girls learn anything from the way they reacted to disappointment? I don't know - I guess we will see? That's part of the fun of watching kids grow up! These are teenaged kids we are talking about.

I wonder if T.L. Hanna's coach learned anything from the way he reacted to the disappointment of who was on the All-State team? Having met him, I feel certain he did!

Zing! Touche! W&E, now you know why I always hesitate before I "mash enter".

deahls,
Thanks for the compliment. All we have is only one Viking Cup trophy in the school trophy case but it is nice to hear people comment that the 2006 Lex-FM quarterfinal and the 2005 WA-FM state championship were great games to watch. Both games still sting a bit but it was fun to be a part of those two contests.

P&Y - I couldn't agree with you more!! Well stated.
W&E - I'll let you know if they attacked or not.... Last year was last year...there are some different players on the field this year for both teams. No matter how it turns out I don't think it will be boring. And just to echo my good friend deahler, last years Fort Mill / Lexington game is still the best girls soccer game I have ever seen, with the possible exception of the state finals 2 years ago between West Ashley and Fort Mill !!!

At Dorman huh. I think Lex has a more potent offense but Dorman will be stingy at home.

Assuming everyone plays......1-0 Lex.
