My first thought in reading this was that specifying a "tall Lex blonde" is rather like specifying "the dumb, inbred, stupid looking one with the sheet over his head" at a Ku Klux Klan rally; it fails miserably with respect to disambiguation.
However, I feel like I've got to look just a bit deeper into my soul on this one and expose a shameful secret to the bright, white, purifying light of this message board. For some time now, I've been aware of a secret ritual that takes place on the Lexington girls soccer team. I have absolutely no doubt that this is one of the root causes underlying the symptomatic behavior you cite.
Quite often, the Lexington girls team, led by their coach, verbally and at times even physically abuse puppies. Yes, you heard me right -- puppies. And not big fat ugly drooling puppies, but really cute ones with big brown eyes and tails that wag whenever they see you. These puppies are innocents that look to the girls on the team with nothing but love and a desire for affection. This means nothing to these girls or their coach, however.
The essence of this ritual is as follows. Before practices, a puppy is selected to represent an opposing team. The girls then circle around the puppy, screaming visciously at him and mercilessly taunting him. Then the coach throws a trash can at the puppy!
Needless to say, the puppy is traumatized and has to undergo intense psychological counciling for years. PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Doggy) syndrome is common, as is an inability to love and trust others in a deep and meaningful way.
I realize that the Lexington coach has an A license -- and perhaps this is something that he learned in terms of the secret incantations and rites passed along during that training. But I think it's absolutely wrong -- and I don't mind standing up and being counted as saying that.
P.S. Please note, if this were done with cats I'd be completely in favor of it.
