It's nice to see that the referees stepped in and did their jobs; all too often there's a passivity toward some of the more egregious behavior in girls games that you sometimes see on the field.
I'm a fan of tough, physical play -- but there are limits -- and the referees are there to enforce those limits.
I've seen a lot of injuries, on a lot of teams, in the last few years. When you mix the tough, physical play of premier league with the decreased average talent found in high school play, you get kids hurt. I'm glad the referees are stepping in and setting boundaries.
