League to assess shootout plans

Football League clubs have agreed to consider a revolutionary proposal for penalty shoot-outs to decide all drawn matches as part of a wider review aimed at making the game more entertaining. But Jimmy Hill, who oversaw the introduction of three points for a win in 1981, has attacked the proposed scrapping of draws as an 'idea from the devil'.

The inferior team often works very hard to earn a draw, in order to earn a point and to hold the opponent to just one point. Jimmy Hill is right, leave it alone.
