The BE advantage has been the topic of discussion in 2A for years. I think BE could be a 3A school and still be State Champions. I believe it is incorrect that BE students have to live in Charleston Co or D.I. I know B-ball players that live in Dorchester Co. As far as girls soccer goes.....BE does not have to recruit. We know a lot of those girls and they were born in to Catholic families and have attended Catholic schools most of their lives. It is also family tradition that some of these girls attend BE. What happens in public and private schools is that the students that come from families that can afford to pay for player development become the better players. Soccer is big in Mt. Pleasant which is why Wando is so good. The Orange Crush name is well known here as being a top team. I definitely want to catch that game! Best of luck to both.

Waccamaw - 1
Bishop England - 0

Excellent Soccer Game!!! The best game I have seen this year, boys or girls... The pace by both teams was staggering. The Waccamaw defense was very strong and they had many opportunities up front. The Bishops really couldnt put together a formidable attack against the all-freshman defense. Also, the Waccamaw JV won 3-2 (PKs) which will only improve the varsity squad in the years to come

Congratulations to Waccamaw, that has to be the biggest win in the program's history. I'm sure the Bishop's will be looking for revenge come State Playoff time. Will Waccamaw finish the season undefeated?

CS Fan, how many girls on the Waccamaw varsity and JV play for the Orange Crush? Will they be playing in the Bridge FA tournament in Summerville next weekend?

The Waccamaw score is good for AA/A. The current senior class at Woodruff has experienced this shift by finally over the past 4 years beating CC and Emerald with some consistency, who historically pounded WHS as much as 10-0. The group at Waccamaw has a wonderful ride ahead. Hope them all the best.

I was once dialed in with respect to teams and their respective players. However, since I stepped-down as the club president, I am no longer aware of who is on what team. When I was however, all of the players for the Crush lived in the Pawleys Island area and thus, all of them would eventually play for WHS. I can remember when we were bringing the girls teams into club soccer, the last thing I wanted to do was mess up a good thing... The players, parents, and coaches have been together a long time and it is wonderful to watch them grow. Too many times we (Adults) think we know better and try to get in there and meddle with things, this is not the case with this team. In fact, I was pretty outspoken about not even making them change their "Orange" uniforms to be consistant with the club colors, I simply asked them to put the club patch on their shorts.

Lesson; If it's working, don't try and fix it.....

FYI,
I do not think they are playing the Bridge tournament because they are currently looking for a new coach. Apparently Pat P. has decided to no longer coach and they will end up getting either Ross M. or Joel B.

CS Fan,

Can you confirm this for me please because the Bridge FA website has an Orange Crush team playing in the U-14/U-15G bracket of next week's Invitational:

Great job Waccamaw. This is good for this division. Home field advantage in the playoffs is huge. This is the only division where seeding is decided by opinion. If Be wins your second meeting they will jump you.

Hurst,

I was informed that the Orange Crush are going to play in the Bridge Tournament and that this will apparently be Pat's last Hoorah with the girls. I sincerely hope they do well in the tournament and I wish Pat all the best in the future... In addition, I am envious of whoever gets the opportunity to coach for these girls; its a great bunch
