NW scores 3 goals against Fort Mill...

2 for NW and a OnGoal for the competition.

NW - 2
FM - 1

Yes, I still say they have a easy road up to the Palmetto Classic

Is NW's defense that weak, because from what ive seen of FM they are having a down year. I understand NW's offense is a force, but have we found there Achilles heal in the defense?

northwestern's defense is hardly a weakness. one of the senior center backs was out for the fort mill game sick and they struggled a bit. However Fort mill will always play Northwestern harder than they play anyone else. The rivalry is a strong one so when using this result to interpret Northwestern's team strength you should understand Fort Mill is a different team when they play NW.
just look at the results NW has put up so far this year in comparison to FM's.

Here's the story from the NW-FM game.

http://www.heraldonline.com/209/story/14655.html

I didn't see the game but I've heard it was very entertaining. It certainly looks like Northwestern dominated the statistics but when all you can get, on your home field, is a PK in 80 minutes of play....you have to tip your hat to the competition.

There is always a great atmosphere at this game and it is always a battle....great HS derby. What I'm most impressed with is the behavior of the fans, players and coaches. This is a BIG rivalry, played twice a year, and good sportsmanhip is always on display. No fights, red cards or bad behavior on the sidelines. Congratulations to both NW and FM.

As for some of the comments above....Northwestern's weaknesses?....obviously not too many. They are a very good team and their forwards and midfield are tremendous. Calling their defenders "weak" or their goalkeeper the "Achilles Heal" is kind of like trying to pick out the ugliest models in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Really not fair.

Congrats again on entertaining all of the York County fans with a well-played game.

Well said Hurst,

this is a great rivalry between some very good friends on and off the pitch, coaches included.

If the Trojans have an Achilles Heel it is the same one as every other ‘top’ team faces: the danger of facing a team, that has the skills to beat you and wants to badly, after you come off a run of blowout wins. NW is 47-5 in its last 5 games. They haven’t been challenged in weeks. FM managed to throw them off stride through good pressure and almost came away with the game. Congrats to FM on a well executed game. I hope you get the respect you deserve.
NW stays # 1 and everyone looks forward to the Palmetto Cup!

I didn't do it, but if I had you never would have known.
