http://www.heraldonline.com/209/story/14655.htmlI didn't see the game but I've heard it was very entertaining. It certainly looks like Northwestern dominated the statistics but when all you can get, on your home field, is a PK in 80 minutes of play....you have to tip your hat to the competition.
There is always a great atmosphere at this game and it is always a battle....great HS derby. What I'm most impressed with is the behavior of the fans, players and coaches. This is a BIG rivalry, played twice a year, and good sportsmanhip is always on display. No fights, red cards or bad behavior on the sidelines. Congratulations to both NW and FM.
As for some of the comments above....Northwestern's weaknesses?....obviously not too many. They are a very good team and their forwards and midfield are tremendous. Calling their defenders "weak" or their goalkeeper the "Achilles Heal" is kind of like trying to pick out the ugliest models in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Really not fair.
Congrats again on entertaining all of the York County fans with a well-played game.
