1. This board decided last year that Enzo was God so anyone else's name is by definition being raised in jest.

2. I've watched him (Andrew) play, and no, he's not the best player in the state, but anyone who thinks that this kid isn't going to be playing for a college somewhere is crazy. Save the "yeah..buts.." I don't care if it's D1, D2 or whatever, he's going to be playing, having fun, and getting a little money to boot. Better to be playing 90 minutes a game than sitting on the bench just so you can say you made a 'Big' name school.

3. Someday he is going to do the same as his dad, work at giving kids a love of the game and an understanding of the fundementals needed to succeed. If you're lucky your kid will be on his team.

I didn't do it, but if I had you never would have known.

personally i would not want my kid on his team. yea he may play at the next level but it will not be division one. It might be a D2 school but i highly doubt that.

At the risk of taking this thread off on a tangent, so what if it is a D2 or D3 school? The vast majority of high school soccer players are not even going to make that. If he is good enough to play in college (at any level) then he is at least a pretty solid player. Many of the names that get thrown around on this board as one of the "best" players or soccer "GODS" will be lucky if they can play D2 college soccer, if college soccer is what they want to do. Few kids play D1, even if they are studs on their high school team or club team.

Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.

Agreed....However, several of the Virginia DIII's such as Hampden-Sydney and Roanoke recruit the SC area.

Greensboro, Guilford and Methodist should be down here recruiting as well.

Hampden-Sydney has long had a pipeline from the Columbia area and their coaches are most always present during State Cup...Even though they are a DIII, they seem to have a pretty healthy endowment and can usually come up with a fairly sizeable academic or need based scholarship for those they covet.
