Kropp is a freakin prick! the kid is completely full of himself and is in my opinion the most overated player in the state!

Say what you like about Kropps attitude but he is in no way overrated. He wins balls and holds them up top better than any forward in the state. He makes Northwesterns attack go because he allows runs to be made by holding the ball. Without Kropp Northwestern loses to Dutch Fork and with him they beat them 5-1. I'm not saying Kropp is a 4 goal difference maker but NW is a different team with him in the squad.

Yes, Vince is a great player. What I said was that Lex (most likely Fisher, Maki, Chavvaria, Weatherly and maybe Younge) have the edge over NW in that part of the field. (I think they all play either CUFC U18 and LEX U17 (State Champs)for club. Lexingtons best chance is to win in midfield, and I think they can do it. I look for a lot of hard, tactical challanges on both sides, and I hope the ref's call it clean. Last years match was one of the best.

Kropp played on the CUFC club and all these guys know and respect each other. You may not like his personality but he is the real deal and in my book his threat is one of the reasons Enzo is so effective.

I hope this match is as much fun to watch as I think it will be.

I didn't do it, but if I had you never would have known.

Who_me and Alexander are absolutely right about Kropp. Kropp does so much to open up the game for both Enzo and Alex. Obviously, they are both oustanding players on their own, but with Kropp in their you can not just put your best defender on Enzo and hope to shut them down. He is as valuable to that team as Enzo is. Just look at the two games against DF.

Lexington's advantage in the midfield will probably come down to numbers rather than personel. NW will probably play a 4-3-3 with 3 central midfield players and no wide midfielders. So if Lexington is to win the midfield they must do so by involving their outside mids.

Lexington has Reed DeMent, Drew Howell and Graham Howard, as defenders who are talented enough to shut down any offense. Tanner Osbourn is the keeper who has proved to be an excellent keep.

I wouldnt be so sure that Lexingtons midfield is more talented than Northwesterns. You have to take a look at two completely different systems. They both work in there own way so it is almost unfair to compare the two. Vance Benson is top notch and possibly the best midfielder in the state. Maki and Chavarria are also quality. You also have to throw in Antinoro from Northwestern. This should be an entertaining match up. I'm gonna go with Northwestern over Lexington 3-1.

a couple thoughts...

kropp is not overrated. period. skillwise he may be the most well-rounded striker in the state. he and enzo work beautifully together.

jess maki is also very talented for lexington. he played very well against northwestern last year in the playoffs. if he plays to that level again this year, the midfield battle is going to be a struggle for both teams. he and vance will be going at it all game.

the difference in the game will be the fact that northwestern has 3 forwards. i dont know if lexington plays with 3 or 4 in the back but either way, if enzo, alex, and kropp are on their game it could be a long night for the backs.

northwestern- 3
lexington- 1

nw playing 3 forwards means more open game but lex has great defenders with maki howard dement howell etc

lex 3

I don't see lexington scoring 3 goals again northwestern. I also see probably the best offense in the state scoring 1 or 2 more goals. Maki just can't stop enzo because then that opens up room for Kropp and Alex. All three of them well off of each other so well that you can just pay attention to one because the other 2 will tear you up.

Northwestern-3
Lexington-1
