With all due respect to SCACA, the future is ahead of us.
I can undertand that all these coaches have achieved great things but the contemporaries of the players being selected to play in these games - both N-S and NC-SC are the coaches who take teams to this years finals in Columbia (or other location for other sports).
You do no damage at all by taking this years championship winners into the coaching staffs, even as additions to those selected, in any sport. And you develop a continuity and transition which can't otherwise be achieved.

Of the girls' team, seven defenders and two forwards doesn't sound very exciting. The boys' side looks more balanced.

I think you'll discover that the girls pool has several players who will be able to perform quite well at several positions. Even a few of the players listed as mid-fielders are defenders in club. The truth is, this group is well-rounded.

Perhaps we should take "The Voice of Reason" as an All-Star coach. Yet another injustice done to you, eh Guardrail? Right up there with the Wando shaft, isn't it?
Congrats to the Old Dogs of South Carolina and being rewarded for their long standing service to this state and it's players!

The selection criteria for all all star game coaches is set forth by the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Assn. All coaches, regardless of the sport, are selected in the same manner. This is a time-honored, proven method that insures that even a coach who has struggled in the win-loss column can still be honored for years of service to the athletes of SC. IT IS NOT ABOUT WINNING! This is the right way to do this.

High School Soccer Coaches Association (SCHSSCA) is asking member schools to participate in sponsorship of the inaugural Clash of the Carolinas , North Carolina/South Carolina All-Star games to be played July 7th at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island. The Clash of the Carolinas is to be sponsored by the High School Soccer Teams of South Carolina.
Each high school soccer team is asked to contribute $100 each ($100 from the girls program and $100 from the boys program). In return, each donating school will have their school name and mascot listed on a banner and in the match program.

Just a follow-up. It is imperative that teams, supporters of youth soccer, etc., contribute to the All-Star events put on by the SCHSSCA to promote high school soccer!

I think if you look back what I said was there is no downside to adding coaches from the state chamionship games to the coaching staffs to provide them recognition and the opportunity to gain experience.
Maybe the 2A and 4A div. alternate years with 1A and 3A so there is four coaches total each year.
