I saw some game quotes in the Lex/White Knoll thread/Palmetto Cup thread and thought they deserved a thread of their own.

One I heard recently after a player shoved another player to the ground and took the ball away: "How can it be a foul if I got the ball?"

One of my favorites- directed at my husbands partner:
"He's blind, he's deaf, he wants to be a ref"

Girls JV game after a player cried after a collision going after the ball-
"Soccer is a contact sport-if you don't like it go play golf"

Coach, incredulous, yells:

"Ref, she headed that ball back to her keeper!"

He wanted a handball called on the keeper, but was unaware he was making a case against himself—:)

I killed Kurt Vonnegut when I shaved my head last night.

I was once threatened by a defender from another school...when I told him it was a 50/50 ball, he replied:

"i'll show you 50 when i cut you..."

"Give him a green card"

"Sir he is using it as a weapon" Refering to a players taped up cast

I know of an exchange between a ref and a coach that went something like this:

Coach "Ref, what's the problem? You can't see that what she did was clearly a foul?"

Ref "Sir, if you don't stop saying this stuff, I'm going to red card you annd throw you out."

Coach "Will you throw me out for what I think?"

Ref "No"

Coach "Then I think that you are a (expletive) idiot."

I think the fan takes it for the best quote

Between a player and a ref...

player: Sir thats clearly a hand ball.

ref: Did it touch his hand?

player: Yea.

ref: Then it's not a handball.

player: What?

one time a coach said "Come on, they're really calling by the rules tonight."
