Nope, not until they dominate for 20 years like Irmo did. Also, with the re-organization of the demographics in their school district, Northwestern won't enjoy that aspect for long either. Soccer is a demographic sport and NW won't have that monopoly in Rock Hill much longer.

I agree. I just don't see any school ever being the superior team in the state for over two decades in a row. Over the past twenty five years only two Irmo teams have not reached either the Upperstate or Lowerstate Finals. Thats unbelievable and I don't see any high school in the state being able to accomplish that nor the state championships. Northwestern is a great team and has turned into a pretty prestige program but they can only be able to be considered the new era Irmo if they continue state championship success for the next 20 years.

I just don't see it either. The population growth and with the growth schools like Rock Hill and South Pointe will continue to improve. Fort Mill will also field great teams. I just don't see them staying on top with good players being spread between all the schools. I see the same thing for schools like Irmo, Lexington, and White Knoll.

I don't think that any program will achieve more consistent success that the Irmo program has achieved. Although, on another note, I believe if you look at some of the best teams SC has ever had, you can find a few that are not from the Irmo program such as 2001(?)Ridgeview team or the dominant Wando team a few years back, and also a few others. What do yall think are the best individual teams ever in SC?

i mean there would have to be some irmo teams high on the list obviously, but other than that there have been some teams: South Aiken in 2005 even though irmo got screwed..., Ridgeview definitely 2001, Wando, i'll get back with the rest

The Wando team with David Newton (sp?) was a great team.

I Would have to say Irmo and Riverside have been the two most dominating programs in SC history ...individually i would have to say maybe the 2005 Eastside team or maybe the Ridgeview 2001

From memory.. (and I could be wrong)

1. Irmo
2. Riverside
3. Bishop England

..as far as State Championships go. And I doubt, despite classification, that anyone would argue the quality of those programs past or present.
