Good luck to MPSC and CUSC with this one. One of the things that plagued Bridge FA from the beginning was the practice location. People wanted to know where they would be practicing before tryouts. This statement is eerily familiar to the initial Bridge position of teams would practice in a location convenient to the majority of the players.
This could prove to be a very tough sell to the parents. How are you going to look at the long time CUSC player and say, that it's best for you to become a MPSC player, or vice versa?
How is it more convenient for that player in West Ashley to be placed on a team at MPSC? I know, it's what's best for the player, but parents won't think it's more convenient.
Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic but having been there done that, I can't really understand this one.
soccer05, I doubt your going to get much response to your request, "Comments of pros and cons or advice of clubs that have been through this would be welcome." in an open forum. The above is only the tip of the iceberg.
CHT, as for putting differences aside, I don't really know about that, but perhaps they see it as uniting against a common enemy.
Perhaps I'm overly pessimistic, but this could be called the ABBA, Anything But Bridge Alliance.
