That goal was scored by Ali Steele, a senior defender for Lexington. There was an article about her in "The State" yesterday; here's the link to the article. She had two goals in the preceding game against North Augusta; she and Emily Adams (another defender) have definitely made Lexington tougher on set plays lately.

Tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. BE wins in PKs

Hard fought game by both teams, well played with not many fouls. Unfortunate collision between 2 summerville players ( keeper and perhaps a defender?) in the 2nd half. - their goalie limped off the field and the other player evidently had a bad fracture and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Hate to see these types of injuries...hope they both are doing better today.

Actually Chico that's ALI Steele . . . and she has scored THREE goals in Lexington's last two games. She, along with Emily Adams have been awful "beastly" lately. Of course, it doesn't hurt when you have "she who's name can not be posted" setting things up. Hopefully Lexington can stay injury-free and get on a "roll" this year!

deahler: I have reviewed my post and find my spelling to be correct. I suggest that you review and admit your heinous error. [Note: I really like the "edit" feature! ] Seriously...sorry about that...I actually posted the article without reading it...it was clearly too early in the morning to be posting. However, I did get the goal total right -- I said she had scored two goals in the game that preceded the South Aiken game -- but obviously I could have been clearer on that as well. Tough crowd...

I think it is about time for kudos to the great coaching job being done at T.L. Hanna. Michael Young has led - along with a tremendous amount of help from a talented and determined group of young ladies - an injury-riddled team to the brink of a region championship. If they pull off the title it is truly one of the great stories of the year.

Make sure that Johnson knows that the only reason I didn't mention his team is because they haven't been to Lexington yet this year!!!

(deahler, I am going to name my 2nd born after you. All but one have returned and a win at Westside gets the school it's 2nd region title. Ron sucks and he knows it.)
