Whoah, a bit presumptuous from coach Young, assuming a win over Westside!!!! Has he forgotten Westside's perfect record against TL Hanna in the past 4.5 seasons??? I think 0-9 speaks for itself! Oh wait, that's not good...

Story of the year, now that brings up an interesting debate. What team, in any classification in girls soccer this year, could be labeled as the "Story of the Year"?

I am at a loss for nominees... Waccammaw perhaps.

Vegas is favoring Westside as 10 to 1 favorites...but we have a good scoreboard operator and announcement crew so advantage Hanna.

Story of the year? Clover for me.

Maybe Lexington's #1 run...or Wren's resurgence...or Byrnes over Riverside.

Here's a list of "Stories of the Year" - Good and Bad - in no order

- 3rd straight year Region I-AAAA player should lead state in scoring (Hint: it won't be D. Boltin from Westside)

- Seneca HS ranked #15 in AAA despite having a negative GF/GA average

- Region II-AAAA having 4 top ten teams, all with a legit shot at a state title

- Clover's emergence as a top #15 program

- Woodruff's ability to compete with anyone!

- James Island's drop off from 2006

I think Waccamaw's defeat of BE has to be up there as well.

- Eastside's overtaking of Riverside despite the latter's high returning starter's rate.

Caitlin Robinson being in the top two scorers in the state in girls AAAA soccer (when coach Young updates his 07 stats) for 3 years running! That accomplishment may be the first of its kind!!!

(Note: Folks, there's a lot of glory to go around. Some teams/areas have a big presence on this board; let's not behave like celebrating one player somehow diminishes another.)
