I would speculate that the Dorman phenomenon is the result of the team growing and improving. Well coached. I often try to watch teams throughout the year. Some teams dominate early and then fizzle. Why? They stagnate and other teams grow.
Very hard for coaches to be disciplined enough to build a team. I think several of the best teams in the state at each level (A through AAAA) will show such growth and primarily be the teams at the end of the season at the state finals.
