Beach Teams 2-1 @ home and 2-6 away. Not the best statistical analysis, but worthy of a closer look.
By taking a quick look at Myrtle Beach from 2005-07 (non-region & non-scrimmage results)

(one home loss being in playoffs to Socastee - playoff defeats of Chapin 5-1 and Dreher 1-0)

(first round away loss to BC)

Not the most compelling argument, but it does seem the beach teams are missing more than just salt in the water when they leave the coast.
