Ha! Lost to Byrnes already and haven't scored on Dorman in the last 4 attempts so the jokes on you!

Of course I would have to disagree with the Mauldin over Lexington pick, and I also disagree with the Spartanburg over Fort Mill, but hey who knows.... We will see shortly. (and it would not surprise me to see South Aiken win in the first round either)

Is it just me, or does it seem that there are a "few" more quality sides in the upperstate this year than there are in the lowerstate? No slam intended to the Lowerstate, but besides Wando and Summerville who are the strong teams from the Lowerstate anyway??

W&E, sorry man, I saw the power last night, and I believe now.

LF, I did pick some random upsets that don't match with the results I studied (Lex already downed Mauldin 2-0, Ft. Mill has a tough D, and SA could easily win their first round match). It's fun to just pick and see if a hunch is correct.

Also, LF made a good point about the strength of the upperstate teams. It looks like every first round match, with the exception of Dorman/Easley, could be decided by 1-2 goals. It's become MUCH more of a measure of respect to make the playoffs as I think 13 of the 16 teams were ranked at some point this season. The number of quality sides has greatly increased in the past few years.

I'm migrating to the lower state...

Yes, I did forget about Dutch Fork, and they should go pretty far I expect. West Ashley I don't think we can consider very strong with a # 15 ranking though.

I remember just a short time ago when ALL the power was in Region VII of the lowerstate with West Ashley, Wando, and James Island knocking each other off when they were easily the best teams in the state for the girls. That has certainly shifted from just a few years ago....

NW will be the #2. They will have identical records with Clover, but your non-region competition gives you points. 4 for a sin over a 4Aschool, 3 for a loss to a 4A. Northwestern only played 4A schools. Clover has 2 wins over 1A Lewisville. NW wins the tiebreaker putting Clover against Irmo. Could be another one and done for a ranked clover team (like last year)!!! Unfortunate.

Cid, thanks for clearing up the seeding for NW/Clover. I have seen neither team play and I did not know the tie-breaker system for Region 3 since it differs from region I.

TL Hanna dodged a second-round bullet with Northwestern getting the tiebreaker over Clover. Now W&E could be looking at his good old buddy Cantona in his second game providing each can get through their opener.

Forget about it.......they both go down!
