Lexington soccer player Kiara Campbell has been named the Gatorade state player of the year.
The junior midfielder had 13 goals and nine assists at the time of her selection to help her team reach today's Class AAAA state championship game against Wando.
She was the player of the year in her region and was selected all-state by the coach's association.
She's impressive in the classroom too. She's never received a grade lower than an 'A', and has a weighted grade-point average of 4.83.
WOW! Congrats to Campbell on this outstanding honor!
