G&B we draw conclusions everyday from numbers, charts and graphs. Calculating state championships one way. Be it a poor way or not I guess depends on the person. Looking at Chico's numbers on CESA players on the super 22 list. One can draw several conclusions. Is this a better way or not? Guess it depends on the person looking at it. But until we get something better it all we got.

I thought that what I showed was all players (save one, which was marked as unknown and later the information was supplied) club affiliations. I didn't realize that this was limited to CESA only. It certainly wasn't my intent to limit it to only CESA.

In any case, here's where I have a problem with the whole "upstate/lower state" analysis. Irmo was in the lower state last year. Irmo is in the upper state this year. Irmo is about 100 miles from Greenville and about 100 miles from Charleston. Trying to create an analysis with plus or minus 100% deviation seems -- well -- difficult at best. If I had to do this, I'd try to increase my data points (over time, looking at rankings, etc.) and I'd argue based on metropolitan areas.

My guess is that if you did this, you'd see a large number of players from Greenville and Spartanburg -- beyond that which you'd expect given the number of candidates, teams, and players.

Chico I promise I meant nothing by it. Just pointing out that it was another set of numbers to look at and draw your own conclusions from.
(I have a problem with the whole "upstate/lower state" analysis.) I agree but it's all that was available to me. Lord knows I don't have to time or smarts to do the latter you suggested. All I'm trying to say is there are a lot of good clubs in the state of S.C. upper state, Midlands and lowcountry. There are more good 4A schools I think then get credit. Summerville was really impressive this year but at last they ran into Wando. It just seemed to me there could have been a little more representation then "2" from each division.

Main point if the reason they're weren't more was because there high school coaches didn't take to time to submit their name it's a shame!

Good point. FM doing their best to represent the Charlotte MSA! Maybe someday if the stars are aligned.

How many state champs have come from BE, CC, and a plethora of G'ville County schools?

I haven't done the exact math, but private schools and schools in G'ville county seem to have dominated state championships, and they all benefit from open enrollment.

I also haven't been able to clarify for sure what other public school districts in the state, other than G'ville, have open enrollment. Some help?
