One interesting point here is that (unless I've missed something again) all girls high school state champions this century in all SCHSL classes have come from the 3 major in-state metro areas: Charleston, Columbia, Greenville-Spartanburg. None from the SC portions of the Charlotte, Augusta, or Savannah MSA's or from non-metro areas. Fort Mill, Hilton Head, and West Florence (twice) have finished second, but no champions.
