Chico, the last paragragh you wrote says it all..We will never feel owned by a club..We choose where to play based on the benefits my child feels that will best suit her needs.

since my kid will never play in the viking cup and i do not keep up with it can someone help me out here.the brackets are posted on the cufc web site so what is their involvment with the high school tourny?

CUFC sponsors the South Carolina/North Carolina "Clash of the Carolinas" and sponsors the South Carolina North-South game. I used the term "tournament" where I should have used the word "event." I am properly chastised.

Out of all of that, that's what you got, huh? Fascinating...

I could have mentioned the $13,800 spent last year on high school programs by CUFC...but I think the point is getting lost. CUFC is doing a good thing...not a bad thing...with their involvement with high school soccer -- despite the fact that this is done with the theory that the best way to help CUFC is to help these kids.

We were quoting movies the other day. Here's one of my favorite quotes (this one is from a novel):

"And what, incidentally, do you think integrity is? The ability not to pick a watch out of your neighbors pocket? Not, its not as easy as that...Integrity is the ability to stand by an idea. This presupposes the ability to think.

A high-integrity position for you here is clear: condemn the recruiting that goes on by all of the clubs and in particular not just Bridge and CESA but CUFC as well.

A high-integrity position for me is equally clear: if I am to praise CESA's combine and CAP programs, I must equally praise CUFC's high school programs, advertising, and the like as attempts to create increasing demand for CUFC services -- both among new and existing players. It's all recruiting -- and from my perspective, it all helps youth soccer in the state.

P.S. Kudos to CUFC for sponsoring both of these all-star events.

I think you've got your "happys" transmogrified. I believe the "feet" version tends to agree with your position on these things.

It seems the only thing CESA has not been accused of is that it's an Upstate Republican plot to hold the combine on the Democratic primary and not on last week's GOP primary.
Anytime you put players in front of college coaches, it is a good event no matter who sponsors it . . . why the endless back and forth?

Fair enough about the spelling (it's not a word I use on a daily basis, thanks for correcting) but, the point still stands.

Stroker...don't get me started on you. You're the biggest meemur of them all.
