Happy... Then you should be equally critical... CUFC has done major recruiting in the midlands. Most within the rules stated by SCYSA, some in back alleys and what not .

All you have to look at is the team make-up and where did those players play the year before and why are they at CUFC?

Are they getting better services? arguable

It is interesting how things start... for example a call from someone you never gave your phone number to that starts like this -
"My name is XXXX and I am with X SC and I understand you have some questions about our club"

Are they violating anything ? player is between seasons and cup play has not occurred ... in theory it is illegal.

However, the way the call was initiated the burden is on the parent/player, if he says no the call is ended if he says yes then information is provided at the request of the parent.

What child in their right mind would not feel flattered?

AND before you fly off the handle, please note the example did happen and was neither CUFC nor CESA. I chose this example on purpose.

soccerish -(Juvenile or imature behavior)
'It was soccerish to taunt the chained up dog.'

happytoes,
Just a bit of advice when dealing with the Big Dog Chico. If I may borrow from the official Urban Dictionary, you may not want to give the impression of being 'soccerish' in your rants about recruiting. (Cause the Big Dog has a mean bite).

Who wouldnt want their kid to be recruited? When a coach calls and you pick up the phone and he/she says I want your kid on my team. Its feels great, right?

last word i got is that there will be 90 boys and 90 girls at the combine.

happydaddy i am going to change my username since to many people are getting me and you mixed up.

i hate i am part of the reason all this got started by basically saying you were full of it. i can agree with some of what you say but i still have a few problems.no matter how you say it in your post you are still trying to put the idea out there that cesa is doing something wrong.and to say cesa is doing one thing and you are unaware of your club doing it then you are FULL OF IT.you think cesa is recruiting by putting on combines and setting up other events. your club does it but i do not see a bunch of people or yourself bashing them. are there other reasons clubs put on these events.YES.money for one and to promote their club is another.your club does it to.
i really do not think your club is trying to recruit all the best players in the state at the events they put on.that is obvious by your clubs results in state cup.

sorry for the spelling and grammer.

futbol(soccer): What child in their right mind would not feel flattered?<<

You've hit at the root of all of this -- because the answer is the child (or parent of the child) that wasn't called but heard about it. The practical consequences of "legal recruiting" (which it took so many words to figure out that was what was being alleged, as in "Hey! You! You're legally recruiting!)) is that it either offers more opportunities to some kids or it is flattering to those players contacted -- and unfortunately, can hurt the feelings of those kids that aren't. That's about the worse consequence I can see.

All I can do is be precise in what I write. I endeavor to be. It is not my responsibility if you or anyone else reads things that aren't there, or infers things that aren't implied. I have no knowledge of CUFC doing the kind of recruiting that I've been talking about. Contrary to what futbol says, kids changing clubs is not proof, without a lot more information, of the recruiting that I dislike. If CUFC is making unsolicited contacts with players from other clubs in an effort to recruit them to CUFC, I think it is a terrible practice and that it should stop. That is my view, whether it occurs on the phone, at camps, or in any other venue. Is that clear? (That's a rhetorical question - I'm really through with this on the forum - if anyone cares to discuss it offline, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected])
