What a win by the Arsenal at the San Siro today. Unbelievable! The Gunners are through to the Quarterfinals by becoming the first English side to defeat AC Milan on Italian soil.
Cecs Fabregas hit a 30-35 yard bomb (I was watching the feed courtesy of a Shanghai station so I couldn't see the exact spot) in the 84th minute and Theo Walcott's precision pass to Emmanuel Adebayor finished off the Devils.
Great victory at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza!

Great win for the Gunners, no doubt.
Kadlec had to make that save though. Positioned in the center of the goal, he wasn't even close to a ball that (though well placed) bounced past him. Shame.

Pitch was wet, players were falling all game. Cesc's bomb skimmed perfectly into the corner.
How about the "flop" call on Hleb! Ref got that one wrong!

Not a big surprise today vs. a 5th place Serie A team that is aged and struggling. The African/European Union all-stars played well, though. Ironic they are the first English side to win at the San Siro vs. Milan with barely an English player that played?
There's a good chance there could be four English teams in the semifinals....and hardly an 11 of English players that will start for their team in them, let alone play. At least the English players will be rested for this summer's Euro 2008. Oops!

It doesn't faze me a bit about the lack of English players at Arsenal. I equate it to recruiting in American football -- I don't care where they are from as long as they win games. For England not to be in the European Championships is an absolute disgrace.

Arsenal finally came up big after disappointments in the FA and Carling cups. They thoroughly outplayed Milan after the first 15 minutes. Fabergas' shot looked stopable, Adebayor's was not.
