Your response is a typical "No Not CESA" emotional response. Let me fill you in on a little upstate secret, we would rather not lose Andrew Flemming, your proposed new DOC. He is greatly respected here and I know that everyone at CESA Homebase would rather play with him then against him. I assure you, he will build teams with the goal of beating everyone, including CESA.

You admit to only having recently learned of this, yet you condemn the effort. Flemming is down their regularly. Get ahold of one of the board members and find out when he will be down there again. Go see him and talk to him. Ask him what his ultimate goal is. Ask him what he is specifically going to do to make the club better for all players; rec and select. I am confident you will be impressed by his nature, character and answers.

So to be upset for not having been told is understandable, but to blast uneducated statements reduces the impact and legitimacy of your posts.

P.S. I dont know that we have ever had Craig Brady and Ronnie Murray present, but we did have Liverpool FC U-17 here last week and all the kids got autographs and watched them play a local team made of Clemson, Furman, and CESA players. It was a great evening of family fun.

The comparison of Craig and Ronnie to the Liverpool group is not even remotely close to apples to apples. To even do so diminishes the contributions of these two individuals to the SSC, and Summerville area in general, with respect to kids and soccer. You were doing fine until your PS.

several of you have stated that cesa does not develop their players but that these players come from other clubs to cesa.most likely because of this recruiting you say cesa does my question would be why does these players leave their clubs to play for cesa? my guess would be because these other clubs do not produce the winners cesa has.most of these kids would like to play for a winner and their parents want it as well.phil jackson never developed his talent but he was able to coach them to several championships.maybe that is what these recruited players are looking for.

At least Phil admitted he didn't develop the talent...

From a personal perspective...

While my son has not been developed exclusively by CESA, they have developed him into a player further than where he was when he started playing for CESA.

I have before, and will continue to commend all those that had a hand in his development, from the volunteer coaches at U10 and below with AYSO, to his current coach. Along the way he has been "developed" by the likes of ODP coaches, Finotti, Pinasco, Rose, Bouleware, and currently Alsop. Club coaches, Brisson, Lundy, Birchwood, Crosby, Eudy and currently Finotti. HS coaches Helms and currently Birchwood. Numerous camps and other coaches along the way. Each one plays their role in "development".

Does this mean CESA owns the rights to his development, no. But what it does mean to me, they have played a role continued and furthered his development.

Mea Culpa, I stepped into something I shouldnt have. My intention was not to compare them, but to state that CESA is building a program and system provides the players with memories they will cherish, and people they will repect, forever.

My intention in posting was to challenge people to look around the CESA bias and seek real answers regarding what can be done for the club. Instead, it is turning into a debate between the wrong people. I have nothing to gain by the SSC contract and therefore, nothing to gain in a debate about it. I believe strongly that CESA is about building community and player and with that I will bow out of this thread.
