================
Coach Andrews and myself are very honored and consider this a great privileged to have been selected to coach the 2009 South Carolina Boys Clash team ... We also feel that you should consider your selection to represent South Carolina on this team a tremendous honor and privilege as well ... We are looking forward and eager to working with such a talented group of young men and soccer players!!!

We realize that the end of the school year and the beginning of summer will be very busy for everyone, with graduation, vacations, camps, work, and the regional tournament in Dallas ... Most of you will also be getting ready for your freshman year in college as student athletes ... This event and the training sessions should be a great addition to your preparations for the upcoming college soccer season ... Your attendance at these sessions will have a great impact on our success ... Our chance of having a good showing will be heavily dependent on how organized and how fit we are and this can only be done by training together as much as possible!!! Please make every effort to attend as many sessions as possible !!!

Take a look at the schedule below, if for some reason you are unable to make any of the sessions please contact me ASAP ... We are very hopeful that most of you will be available for all the sessions.

The third annual Clash of the Carolinas, sponsored by Columbia United FC, outfitted by NIKE, and hosted by the South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association, will take place on Saturday, July 11 at Daniel Island's Blackbaud Stadium - home of the USL First Division Charleston Battery.

Kickoff times are set for 3 p.m., for the girls match, and 5 o'clock for the boys contest. Tickets can be purchased through the Charleston Battery at 843-971-GOAL (4625). Souvenir programs will be on sale for $5.

The "Clash" is the only interstate soccer all-star rivalry of its kind in the nation. In the boys series, the Sandlappers and Tar Heels have battled to a pair of draws and in the girls series, each team has claimed a victory in two meetings.

Following the prep matches that day, the Battery will host the Carolina RailHawks of Cary, N.C., in a USL First Division tilt that will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
