Club Directors,

Recently, there have been some significant updates to the youth soccer pyramid under US Youth Soccer's registration.

In short, all USYS NL Conferences and US Club NPL conferences will be dissolved and merged to create a new competition (yet to be named).
This competition will be TEAM-BASED ONLY.

The only club-based leagues run by either National Association will be the ECNL and ECNL Regional League.

The postseason for teams in this new competition will be integrated with ECNL Regional League.

There is currently no communication on how teams will flow from the existing Piedmont Conferences or the NPL into this new competition.
We will continue to update you as information comes to us, especially as you plan for upcoming tryouts.

Please read the below announcement from US Youth Soccer:
"National League coaches, managers, club leaders, and partners:
We are writing to share an update on “NewComp,” the new competition you all have been hearing a lot about lately. This has been, and continues to be, an incredible collaborative effort across the youth soccer landscape. US Youth Soccer, in collaboration with US Club Soccer and ECNL, has been developing a shared vision for a structure like this, and it is gratifying to see the positive response as that vision comes to life.
Here’s what we know right now:

The USYS National League and US Club Soccer’s NPL will come together in the 2026-27 season to form NewComp. The 2025-26 season is unaffected, including each organization’s respective postseasons.
Marc Frankland, current General Manager of the National League, will be the commissioner of NewComp, with his full-time attention focused on the league. Additional staffing decisions will be announced at a later date.
The result is the top team-based competition in US Youth Soccer/US Club Soccer, immediately serving 10,000 teams, more than 150,000 players."
