The South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association's Winter Clinic will be held January 14-15, 2022 in Columbia, S.C. This year's featured speaker will be new University of South Carolina Head Men's Soccer Coach Tony Annan.

The South Carolina HIgh School Soccer Coaches Association (SCHSSCA) staged its annual Winter Clinic January 14-15 in the Midlands. Friday's event took place at the Hyatt Place Vista downtown while Saturday's activities were held at the West Columbia Soccer Complex (WCSC). The Winter Clinic resumed after a one-year hiatus due to Covid-19 in 2021.
On Friday, Charlie Wentzky of the South Carolina High School League conducted the SCHSL Soccer Rules Clinic and first-year men's soccer coach Tony Annan of the University of South Carolina introduced himself, assistant coach Tam McGowan, and his vision for the Gamecocks program. This was followed by the SCHSSCA Business Meeting and a pizza social full of networking and fellowship.
Saturday began with a breakfast sponsored by the Midlands Fellowship of Christian Athletes with sponsors, Frank Hester and Mike Millington, which featured former Dutch Fork High School assistant soccer coach, Mark Terry, serving as the main speaker.
Afterwards, a two-hour session each for boys (10am) and girls (12pm) senior soccer players interested in displaying their talents before SCHSSCA All-Star Coaches, membership, and collegiate coaches in the Lloyd's Senior Showcase which was hosted and conducted by Congaree Rapid FC. The SCHSSCA sponsors two Summer All-Star events which recognizes 108 graduated seniors: North-South Soccer Classic (June 17-18) at T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson and the Clash of the Carolinas (June 24-25) in Raleigh, N.C.
In addition to this recap of the SCHSSCA Winter Clinic, the 2022 Preseason Rankings were released Friday night and are attached in this email.
