I think you gotta like Hartsville in this tourny.. they play South tonight, and that is usually a heated game, but South and West both lost their core, and unless their new guys really step up the tradition, I just don't see them repeating their success. I haven't heard much on Camden though. Gov. School is always a surprise, though.. but I still like Hartsville to win this thing. Their young guys have matured, even if they are under a new coach this season.

wilson 2-1 hartsville, most horrible refs i have ever seen in a long time. only 2 cards were issued to players but should of been more towards wilsons side. the committed many fouls towards hartsville.

I played for Wilson and watched the South/RNE game. The refs were horrible for both games. They lost control, in fact they never tried to gain control of the game. But if you thaught the Wilson/Hartsville game was bad, the South/RNE game got way out of hand. There was a big fight, mainly one SF player against the RNE team. I was in the stands right behind it. I don't want to talk about what happened or name names cause I don't want to get anything wrong, but it was extremely nasty. The bad part was that nobody got any card from the fight, and the main players in the fight were able to continue to play. Anyways my point is that the officiating was absolutely horrible both games.

Yea the refs this year are horrible i think they are only using two refs instead of three. they need to get one more ref so that the games will be better controled for todays games. two refs just doesn't work with these two guys. yes i know we need to give refs a break but why is it not that they use three instead of two? games are getting out of control and from what liverpool said how can you get away with something like that? best of luck to eveyone playing today. have a nice day

Camden 3-0 Gov School Wilson 2-2 Gov School reg time PKs Wilson 3-2 GSSM West Florences field has been completely torn up by playing all these games in the mud. Also Im pretty sure that the refs forgot to bring their cards to the games today, and I think one forgot his glasses, but whatever you cant blame the refs.

Hartsville-WF suspended due to a fight. WF was losing 1-0. And WF players started playing physical after the first goal and too many fouls were commited towards hartsville. pulling of jerseys, kickings on the legs and plain out pushing. i guess WF couldn't handle a defeat on their field. They were getting played by adrian and the one guy from WF tackled him from behind and then recieved what he deserved a couple of punches in the face. i wonder how he feels right now? the refs really sucked the whole entire game! as you said littleplayer the probably forgot their cards and their glasses! and i would also like to know what can be done about a ref screaming at a players face? something has to be done about these refs! kyle is there anything that can be done to them? im sure the refs have some type of punishment towards this. no cards were issued during this game at ALL!

HAHA. That's funny. Sounds like the rednecks got what they deserved. It would have been even better if you got some of their fans as well. So....did Hartsville get the win? How much time was left when this happened.

no striker hartsville did not get the win no one did. sucks cause they really dont like to lose to hartsville but the game was suspended so 3rd place is not known for the tournament. it was only in the first half when the whole fight started. there were about 5 minutes left in the first half but i guess the guy got ****ed off and tackled our guy and got what he deserved a couple of licks in the face.

I should think that if chick-fil-a is gonna sponsor a high school tournament. They'd sponsor the lake murray challenge, or palmetto cup, or carolina soccer classic. That would make more sense and money for them.

i think that everyone talkin about the west-hartsville game need to get their facts straight. . . especially futbol09. Its true that west had a few cheap shots in but not before hartsville continuously hit, pushed, and fould west(without the ref givin any warnings or cards of course). its also ridiculous to say that "They were getting played by adrian" the entire game. im the keeper for west and i touched the ball 1 time the entire game. . . it was on hartsvilles side the entire time. its a little hard for "adrian to play us" when he couldnt get it across midfield. all i got to say is that im ready for the regular season games against hartsville to start. . . they better believe west is gonna bring it

Alex thats why your guy tackled our guy! cause he made him look stupid i guess cause he had no reason to hit our guy but he got what he deserved! i dont play for hartsville i was just there watching the games. the refs were horrible. i think one of the refs glasses were all fogged up so i guess thats why he didn't call any fouls! and how can you tell me that hartsville started fouling! dude i had a better and clear view over you. your guy #7 was fouling our guy in the back! dude you didn't see anything then! adrian was being fouled a lot by your mids the entire time he got the ball.

The Championship game between Camden and Richland Northeast was cancelled because of the weather. Camden was declared the champion by virtue of the 18 tournament points earned v. RNE's 14 or 15 points. Despite the weather and fights, Coach Andrews does a good job with the tournament.

He didn't tackle him because he made him look stupid, he tackled him because he got backhanded in the face (and started bleeding in the mouth because of it).
Yep, #7 fouls alot, but he was on the other side of the field, so it didn't matter.
There was just as much fouling on each side of the ball. Our midfielders kept complaining about being clipped and pushed from behind by #10 on your team (which I'm guessing is adrian).
But I agree, the refs were horrible. They didn't have any control of the game from the start. It amazed me that at the end they blamed our coach for the fight.

i agree with that but honestly. . . there is no way that anyone can say that west was the only team on that field playing dirty. hartsville's player backhanded west in the mouth, thats how the fight started.

WOW, does chik-fil-a know about this nightmare of a tournament? That is embarrasing to say the least! Rednecks should be banned from soccer, they do absolutely nothing for the game. And you morons out there promoting the "redneck league" should be done away with also, its neither funny nor interesting, but then again when you are what you are.....

he's right though.
you people are the reason soccer gets a bad rap. You can't speak. The sport you're playing hardly can be labeled soccer and to top it off you come here and project this thug/redneck/whatever you want to call it image that the sport does not need. It's because of things like this fight that soccer hasn't risen up to a more mainstream competition sport. Rather, soccer is seen by your community to be nearly a pasttime hobby or a daycare center for troubled rednecks.

shut^&play you have no clue what you are talking about. have you ever been to florence much less played against west? there is not one person on my team that i would remotly fit into the category of a redneck. my opinion is that anyone who wasnt at the game has no room to talk crap about either team that was involved. so personally i think that you should take your own advice and "shut up and play" instead of complain about a game that you didnt see that involved teams that you know nothing about.

I have been sitting here reading all these posts and it makes me real mad. Chuck, not trying to bash you or anything, but it seems like you are saying that all the players for these teams are "rednecks," but this is far from true. Every school in SC has "rednecks," and most have them that play soccer. West Florence has established themselves as a good team in 4A soccer, but they are so called "rednecks?" I used to play for Hartsville, and we were far from "rednecks." We played as a team and were all on club teams. Soccer is a physical sport, and takes more to play than many other sports. Takling and pushing are part of the game. The fight was fueled from hard play and cheap fouls. Does this constitute "rednecks?" NO, every team goes through this type of play and every team has its far share of this play. It's part of soccer, and that is how it is. Chuck, this post was not directed at you, it is directed at everyone who thinks the soccer players from this area are "rednecks" your post just happened to be the one I saw it written a few times in.

Yes I have been to Florence. It's an experience I'd rather forget. You guys have nice gas stations though and that Mcdonalds/Wendy's combo is perfectly positioned so I can pick up a Frosty and a Cheeseburger on my way to the beach.
Yes I've played againt W. Florence and S. Florence and Hartsville. There have been a few good players to come out of W. Flo. (ie. Joel Kozack and Ross Carr) but now you guys have resorted to just brawling with each other and coming here to proclaim how cool you are and how the other team deserved it blah blah blah. Your reputation only gets worse as you proceed to publish your laughable experiences on this board. "Kudos" to you.

There have been good players to come out of Hartsville and South Florence too. Also, you did not mention Michael Kozack(Joel's older brother) who could have possibly been the best player to ever come out of West. But Hartsville has had guys like Kyle Parish, a guy by the name of Bret Puechel who was the best player in the region his senior year. You have Bret's younger brother Curt who was a great player. Hartsville has also had many other who have played college soccer, just like any other school in the state. South Florence has had a few I can name also. Stephen Grantham(playing college football), Justin Bramlett was a decent player, Gunner Neislon was a good player, a up and coming player for South would be Max Bibbo. And they have had other good players as well. West also had the likes of Ike Boatwright. Hartsville had Christopher Moore(keeper) and Jason Moore who bothed played at the college ranks before getting hurt. So for someone to sit here and say that there have not been a decent number of quality players to come out of this area, you are wrong. Back a few years ago, Hartsville's club team at the U-18 level placed 3rd in the state. And that had many players from the the Florence area. The teams have not resorted to brawling. That fight was a mere result of cheap play and frustrations on both teams parts. Fights happen, and they will continue to happen. There is a lot of pride and passion in high school sports, and that can take things too far. But Shut^&Play, for you to sit here and give someone like myself, who played for Hartsville, a reputation as you have, you have done myself a wrong doing, the people of this region of the state the same, and the whole state for that matter. So we are all not "rednecks" down here, we have quality people who have passion for soccer and want to see it grow. But this was not a final resort to go to, it was heated by intense play and cheap play.

O let's not forget I merely exacerbated the "redneck" label. Many others were calling you that waaaaaaay before I interjected my two cents. As a matter of fact Hartsville and W. Florence recently registered in the top 10 in the Redneck League as per Striker's list. I actually thought I was defending some of the quality players to come out of Florence (from someone with a biased opinion against those three schools mind you. Not you...sitting there...in one of those towns). Personally, I don't think that the people are actual "rednecks" in the town (as per the Webster definition) but with all the fighting and the illegible posts...you certainly are acting like it PS How many freaking years ago was that Hartsville team 3rd in the State? I can't recall exactly. I need a refresher. Like 15 years ago, maybe, because that is beyond my body of knowledge. Also was this at the rec level or the classic level? Obviously not premier or challenge because I know that was before their inception.

Hartsville was 3rd at the Challenge Cup in I think 2000. I understand you are defending these players, and that is well appriciated, my comment was not directed solely at you, I understand my post came off as directed solely at you Shut^&Play, and by all means, my bad. It is embarassing me to see the area which I live in have that reputation. I am by all means just trying to defend my reputation and show that the true players from around here are not "rednecks". My appologies again, just trying to defend where I live.

That team was a good team, but the team I am talking about was comprised of about 6 guys from West Florence. The team I am talking about actually won it in 99'. This team consisted of Florence players like Ike Boatwright. These guys are like 21-23 now.

I took my SAT at Wilson..certainly not "redneck"..but still not my "neck" of the woods. ..get it.. it was a pun. ..kind of.
I don't know who is a redneck..and who isn't..that's up to the Stroke.. but man.. WF has fallen far from just a few years ago..in my opinion. I think Rashad has the right idea..go with that.

yeah, yall really "spanked our butts"....it was only 2-1, and we were missing our top scorer (due to ejection from our last game) and one of our best mids (two yellows at the second LE (screw them)game)....it was a good game though, sorry about Bud gettin hurt, tell him to get better
